It’s September – Back to School time!
That means slowing down for School Zones. When those yellow lights are flashing in front of the North Highlands Elementary, we are to go no faster than 15 miles an hour and that is S.L.O.W.! - by anyone’s standards. It can be an inconvenience, especially when I am in a hurry (which is too much of the time!)
I’ve decided to let the slow down at the school zone be a call to prayer. I pray for the children and teachers, for the office workers, lunch room workers, janitors, bus drivers. I pray for the families of the children… for everyone who is learning and growing.
I wonder how our lives would change if every inconvenience and irritation were turned into something good in our lives … a call to prayer. The Bible tells us to “pray without ceasing”… maybe this is one way to do that!
